Infinity IT-8500 Massage Chair Review

The Infinity IT-8500 is quickly becoming one of our best-selling massage chairs. If you see one in person it is pretty easy to see why, it's sleek, it's comfy and delivers on the promise of relaxing massage. Infinite Therapeutics is the manufacturer behind this massage chair; this is one of the higher end models in their simple and focused selection of massage chairs. Infinity massage chairs are primarily focused on their Inversion therapy technology, which is a therapy that involves reclining you back until you are in a position that they can use the airbag system to stretch those hard to reach muscles and help your spine decompress. This is by far one of my favorite massage chairs, so let’s take a deeper look with our review so you can see what you get for your money.

Just as I have mentioned in the other reviews, take my experience with a grain of salt if you vary significantly in height, weight, or sensitivity to me. A different sized person will have a very different experience with this chair, or any massage chair you try simply because your body is different and has different needs. I am 6’2” and in the high 200 lbs. This is important to keep in mind as we continue.

The Infinity IT-8500 is the massage chair model just below their famous Infinity Iyashi, and delivers a similar massage, just without a few of the advanced technological features. The Infinity IT-8500 is available in 4 colors, Black, Brown, Taupe, and Ivory, and offers a beautiful modern design. Let’s get into the details!

When you first sit down

When you first sit down in this massage chair, the seating is quite plush, much more soft and comfortable than the IT-7800. The remote had a lot going on, but it wasn’t too difficult to choose my massage program and position. One of the things that Infinity massage chairs are known for is the vast array of massage program combinations. You have 5 massage styles to choose from, 4 base massage programs and a long list of inversion therapy positions.

Inversion Therapy Program – Tru-Grip V Stretch

I had to try it. This program combines airbag compression massage with their inversion technology to stretch muscles around your spine and in other hard to reach areas. After experiencing this program, I can honestly say that no other massage chair I have tried has anything like this. It was a bit awkward at first since I was reclined so far back, but it was incredibly effective at reaching muscles around my spine I didn’t even know I had.

Quiet Massage Chair

One important point of note is that the Infinity IT-8500 massage chair claims to be extremely quiet, without much noise from the motors, or in and of the massage machinery. I found this to be largely true. While it wasn’t silent the mechanics of this massage chair were much quieter than many of the other massage chairs I have experienced. I didn’t play any music with this use, but if I had, I believe it wouldn’t have had to be very loud to hear it over the massage chair. It was very quiet and a refreshing change from some of the louder models I have tried.

Warranty Information

Like all Infinity massage chairs, the Infinity IT-8500 comes with a limited three-year warranty that protects your purchase for 3 years, but to different extents each year. The first year covers any parts and labor necessary for the servicing of your massage chair at no cost to you. During the second year, the cost of parts are covered, and the final year the framework of the massage chair is covered, but other parts and labor will need to be paid for out of pocket.

There are extended warranty options that will protect your purchase for up to 5 years from the date of purchase with in-home service that covers parts and labor for the duration of the warranty. This is usually the best bet when spending a considerable amount of money on a massage chair. We offer these warranties for an additional $239.

How the IT-8500 Compares

We have sold numerous IT-8500's to people with the same story. When they tried out this massage chair right next to the Inada Sogno Dreamwave, they ended up liking the IT-8500 much better. The seat was much more comfortable and the massage was much more effective. The Dreamwave is more than twice its price, and many people choose the IT-8500 over the Dreamwave in a comparison test. That alone should speak to the quality that this massage chair brings to the table.

Shipping Information

Many people don’t know Infinity IT-8500 don’t come assembled; they come in pieces in several very heavy boxes weighing hundreds of pounds. Some of the boxes are large and barely fit through a doorway. So it’s important to enlist help to aid you in moving the boxes and assembling the massage chair. If help is not available to you we do offer a White glove delivery service for a small fee. An assembly crew will come out to your home, bring the boxes to whatever room you choose and assemble the massage chair for you. They will even have you test it before they leave to ensure everything is in working order. They even dispose of the packaging for you if you so choose. (Original packaging is required for returns).

Assembly of the IT-8500

The Infinity IT-8500 has a fairly straight forward assembly process. Your massage chair will show up to your home in one large box, and one smaller box. If you have opted to assemble the massage chair yourself, you will need to take the boxes inside. This is likely the most difficult part of the whole assembly at home. Once you have the pieces in the room you wish to assemble it in the rest is as easy as following a set of instructions. The hardest part will be moving each piece since they are so heavy, bulky and awkward. If you can afford it, the White Glove Delivery is definitely the way to go.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a massage chair that delivers on its promise for an incredible massage, then the IT-8500 is perfect for you. Much like the best seller from Osaki, this massage chair can easily compare to massage chairs twice its price and is most definitely a good buy. The only downside you are going to find to this chair is that it is fairly large.
